The differences between Verizon’s America’s Choice Plan and the new Nationwide Plan

13 05 2008

Many people have been confused by the release of the new Nationwide plan, and its differences with the America’s Choice Plan. One reason is simply the pricing. For $99.99 on the Nationwide plan, you get unlimited calls to anyone, anywhere for five phones. This is a great plan for families wanting a cheap way to communicate with one another. For an extra $30 totaling to $129.99, your plan can include unlimited text messaging to any phone, anywhere. No more overage fees with this new plan.

The Nationwide plan is great for many families, but for some people, the America’s choice plan is more benefitial. The America’s choic plan or ACII is now no longer avaliable for Verizon customers to choose from. This post is designed to help you choose whether or not you want to keep the ACII plan or switch to the new Nationwide plan. The only thing that can hold you back from converting to the Nationwide Plan, is the mobile browsing/data charges. On the ACII plan, data is charged as minutes. If you have 700 mins avaliable outside of Verizon, and you spend one hour on mobile web, you now only have 640 mins avaliable, but no other data charges. On the new Nationwide plan, data is charged per MB at the rate of $1.99/MB, which quickly piles up. Data charges include the Get it Now services, Mobile web, and V Cast.
